Andre Holmes will move into his fourth NFL facility when he joins the Oakland Raiders for off-season work. The former Hillsdale College receiver was claimed by the Silver and Black on waivers early this week after New England cut Holmes on Saturday. The Chicago-area native will reunite with former Hillsdale teammate and Oakland starting tackle Jared Veldheer as both were key factors in the Division II program’s resurgence and first ever playoff bid in 2009.
Holmes was originally signed out of HIllsdale by the Vikings and was cut after the team’s 2011 training camp. He spent the majority of that season and last year in the Cowboys’ organization on both the practice squad and active roster. New England signed Holmes after he was released Thanksgiving weekend by Dallas.
