Saturday night at Hillsdale College was one to forget as the Chargers took a 7-0 lead over the University of Indianapolis but were shutout 38-0 the rest of the way. Charger Football is now 1-3 overall and 1-2 in the GLIAC.
After keeping within striking distance in their previous two losses, the Chargers just didn’t have it this week as the Greyhounds ran away with this one. The Charger offense couldn’t keep pace with the rate Indianapolis was scoring. Three missed Hillsdale field goals didn’t help either.
Most Charger fans figured the Hillsdale defense had nowhere to go but up, but after last night Hillsdale is not yielding an average of 547 yards per game. I am sad to report it, but that average is by far the most yards per game this program has given up in at least thirty-five years.
Things don’t get any easier with the next two games being on the road at Grand Valley and Ashland. It’s going to take a great effort from players and some genius from the coaching staff to right this ship.
I’m sure hoping to see some magic in Allendale next Saturday night
Here is the Hillsdale College recap.
