It’s not only the GLIAC that took notice of Hillsdale’s Troy Weatherhead’s league record breaking performance on Saturday. The 92.9 completion percentage Weatherhead posted at Ohio Dominican made the Division II Great Performances Notebook and garnered the Chargers some face time on the front of NCAA.com.
Here is an excerpt from the article: “ON THE MONEY: Hillsdale College senior quarterback Troy Weatherhead set the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference single-game mark for completion percentage by connecting on 26-of-28 passes (.929) for a season-high 354 yards and three touchdowns in the Chargers’ 35-10 defeat of Ohio Dominican last weekend.
Weatherhead completed his first 17 attempts of the contest, and has connected on an unbelievable 84 percent of his passes for the season. The native of Grand Rapids, Mich., paces the nation with a 196.4 passing efficiency. Weather[head]’s three TD passes also pushed him over the school’s all-time mark, giving him 54 in his career. He leads the GLIAC with 13 this season.
The No. 8 Chargers have won four straight games, and look to keep up their winning ways against Michigan Tech on Oct. 16.“
